Labels and Barcode Scanning
Stockr supports inventory label printing and scanning in specific workflows. Check the label’s encoded value and the destination screen’s matching rules before printing a large batch.
Inventory labels
Section titled “Inventory labels”Open Inventory Labels, choose items and quantities, and inspect the preview before printing. Verify product identity, barcode value, part number, and bin information on a sample label.
Valid retail barcodes can print as UPC-A or EAN-13. The shop-wide fallback label format is Code128 or Code39 under Settings → Inventory Labels.
Vendor Label Barcode and Barcode Type rules are shared brand settings. They are not different rules for each supplier associated with that brand. For MFR Part #, Stockr uses the shop-wide MFR metafield first, then the brand’s default supplier mapping.
Keep SKU and manufacturer identifiers as text when moving data through spreadsheets so leading zeroes are preserved.
Inventory counts
Section titled “Inventory counts”A count supports search, Scan Mode, camera scanning where supported, and Open Mobile Scanner. A keyboard-style scanner enters its code into the focused scan field. Review the resolved item and count after the first scan.
The standalone mobile scanner uses a temporary link tied to the current store installation and count. It is not a permanent public page. Regenerate expired links from the app; old links also stop working after uninstall/reinstall.
Camera access depends on the browser, device, permission, and secure page context. If unavailable in the embedded view, try the provided mobile scanner workflow or a keyboard scanner.
PO receiving
Section titled “PO receiving”The PO Scan action matches the item’s SKU or Part # and accumulates the quantity to receive. A retail barcode that is different from both fields will not necessarily match. Review scanned quantities and then submit the receive.

Troubleshooting a scan or print
Section titled “Troubleshooting a scan or print”- Confirm focus is in the correct scan field and the code matches that workflow.
- Check extra spaces, leading zeroes, duplicate product identifiers, and mappings.
- Verify a sample label can be read by the warehouse scanner.
- Check printer media and browser scale before printing a full run.
- Generate fresh label/scanner links after expiry or reinstall.
Temporary label and scanner links can expose operational data or permit count entry. Share them only with the intended team member.
