Stock Transfers

Transfers record movement between two different physical Shopify locations. Virtual supplier locations cannot be transfer origins or destinations.

Create and ship

1. Open Transfers and create a transfer.
2. Select origin and destination.
3. Search or scan items and enter the quantities to move.
4. Review the draft and stock available at the origin.
5. Use the ship action when the goods leave.

The server checks available stock when preparing a transfer. Shipping subtracts the recorded quantities from the origin and moves the transfer to In Transit. A draft can be cancelled before shipping.

Receive

When all recorded quantities arrive, open the in-transit transfer and receive it. Receiving adds the transfer’s recorded quantities to the destination and marks it Received.

Caution

The current transfer receive action applies the full recorded quantities. It does not offer partial receiving or per-line shortage adjustments. If goods are missing or damaged, reconcile the discrepancy before using full receive.

Review the result

Verify quantities at both Shopify locations and inspect the transfer record. If an operation errors or times out, inspect both systems before retrying. Use Export CSV on the transfer list for its supported summary export.
