Stock Transfers
Stock transfers let you move inventory from one Shopify location to another. Whether you are restocking a retail store from a warehouse or redistributing slow-moving inventory, StockrHub tracks the entire transfer lifecycle with full audit trails.
Creating a Transfer
Section titled “Creating a Transfer”- Navigate to Transfers and click Create Transfer.
- Select the origin location (where stock is shipping from).
- Select the destination location (where stock is shipping to).
- Add items to the transfer.
- Save as draft or mark as in transit.
Adding Items
Section titled “Adding Items”You can add items to a transfer in two ways:
Search by SKU or Name
Section titled “Search by SKU or Name”Use the search field to find products by SKU, barcode, or product title. Select the variant you want to transfer and enter the quantity.
Barcode Scanning
Section titled “Barcode Scanning”If you have a barcode scanner connected:
- Place your cursor in the barcode input field.
- Scan the item’s barcode.
- StockrHub looks up the matching variant and adds it to the transfer.
- Scan again to increment the quantity or add a new item.
Setting Quantities
Section titled “Setting Quantities”For each line item, enter the number of units to transfer. StockrHub displays the current available quantity at the origin location so you can verify stock is available.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| SKU | The product variant’s SKU |
| Product | Product and variant title |
| Available | Current stock at the origin location |
| Transfer Qty | Number of units to move |
Transfer Statuses
Section titled “Transfer Statuses”A transfer moves through three statuses:
- Draft — The transfer has been created but stock has not been picked or shipped. You can still add, remove, or adjust items.
- In Transit — Items have left the origin location. Inventory at the origin is decremented.
- Received — Items have arrived at the destination. Inventory at the destination is incremented.
Receiving a Transfer
Section titled “Receiving a Transfer”When inventory arrives at the destination location:
- Open the transfer and click Receive.
- Verify the received quantity for each line item against what was actually delivered.
- Adjust quantities if there are discrepancies (damaged goods, shortages).
- Click Complete Receive.
StockrHub will:
- Increment inventory at the destination location for the received quantities.
- Record any discrepancies between the expected and received quantities.
- Move the transfer to Received status.
Audit Trail
Section titled “Audit Trail”Every transfer maintains a complete audit trail with before/after inventory snapshots:
- Before Snapshot — Stock levels at both locations before the transfer.
- After Snapshot — Stock levels at both locations after receiving.
- Timestamps — When each status change occurred.
- User — Who created, shipped, and received the transfer.
This audit trail provides accountability and helps investigate discrepancies.
Location Selection
Section titled “Location Selection”StockrHub syncs your location list from Shopify. All active locations appear in the origin and destination dropdowns. If you add or remove locations in Shopify, they will be reflected in StockrHub after the next sync.
Locations typically include:
- Warehouses
- Retail stores
- Distribution centers
- Pop-up or temporary locations
